The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a new Digital Disaster Compensation Management app to ensure flood-affected families receive financial aid quickly, securely, and transparently.
Launched by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the app has been developed by the KP Information Technology Board (KPITB) and integrated into the province’s service delivery platform “Dastak.”
The app allows affected families to submit damage claims, upload property loss details, and receive payments directly in their bank accounts. Using geo-tagging technology, damages are verified on the ground to eliminate fraudulent claims. A real-time dashboard gives the Chief Minister and senior officials live updates on payments and damage assessments.
To fund the initiative, the government has opened a special PDMA account for all disbursements, ensuring transparency and auditability. In a show of solidarity, CM Gandapur donated his one-month salary, while ministers, MPAs, and government employees pledged portions of their salaries to the fund.
Relief operations have already started in affected districts, including Buner, with surveys underway to assess damage to homes, businesses, livestock, and shops. Instead of food packages, families will now receive cash support so they can meet their specific needs. Verification will be conducted using NADRA records to ensure only genuine beneficiaries are included.
The app is accessible via the KP Super App on the Apple App Store, while a related Digital Assessment Platform is available on Google Play for field officers. Citizens can also find instructions and access links on the KPITB website and the provincial government portal.
