Apex Committee condemns terror attacks, vows to preserve peace in Gilgit-Baltistan

GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan Apex Committee convened a high-level meeting on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan at the Apex Committee Room, Jutial, Gilgit, to review the security situation following recent terror incidents in the region.

The meeting was attended by the Commander Force Command Northern Areas (FCNA), the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Home Secretary, Secretary Interior, and senior representatives from law enforcement agencies, intelligence organizations, and key administrative departments.

Participants of the meeting strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks targeting Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat Gilgit-Baltistan and Kohistan, Maulana Qazi Nisar Ahmed, and Chief Court Judge Justice Malik Inayat-ur-Rehman. They reaffirmed their unified resolve that peace and stability in Gilgit-Baltistan will be safeguarded at all costs.

The Committee vowed that those involved in these heinous acts would be apprehended and brought to justice swiftly.

Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan appealed to the people to remain calm and avoid confrontation, emphasizing the need for unity and cooperation with security agencies to maintain peace and sectarian harmony.

Commander FCNA assured the meeting that the security forces are fully prepared and committed to ensuring the safety and protection of the people. “Any attempt to disturb the peace of the region will be dealt with firmly,” he stated.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to counter all efforts aimed at destabilizing Gilgit-Baltistan and to continue coordinated operations to ensure lasting peace across the region.
