CCP approves merger of HA Fibres with Husnain Textile Mills

The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has given the green light to the merger of HA Fibres (Private) Limited (HAFL) with Husnain Textile Mills (Private) Limited (HTML).

The transaction involves the complete amalgamation of HAFL into HTML. Both companies, incorporated in 2006 and 2004 respectively, operate in the same sector—manufacturing and sale of yarn, particularly in the cotton polyester segment.

In its review, the CCP identified the relevant market as “Yarn – Cotton Polyester” in Pakistan. The commission found that the merger would not result in any significant lessening of competition, as the combined market share of the two entities remains limited. The evaluation further noted that the merger would not create a dominant position, nor would it raise major entry barriers for new players in the sector.

Consequently, the CCP approved the merger under Section 31 of the Competition Act, 2010, allowing both entities to consolidate operations within Pakistan’s textile industry.
