ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) generated Rs. 17.14 billion on the first day of its three-day open auction of commercial plots in Islamabad. The auction was personally overseen by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The highest bid of the day came from Plot No. 13 in Blue Area (G-8), which was sold for Rs. 7.24 billion, followed by Plot No. 14 fetching Rs. 4.16 billion, and Plot No. 12 going for Rs. 3.60 billion. In Sector I-14, Plot No. 3-A sold for Rs. 749.32 million, Plot No. 3-B for Rs. 709.32 million, and Plot No. 10-A for Rs. 669.32 million.
The auction will continue on July 16 and 17, featuring additional commercial plots in Blue Area and shops in the Blue Area Parking Plaza. A total of 46 plots and shops are being presented for bidding.
To ensure transparency, CDA board members including Member Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Naffasat Raza, and Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafeez monitored the proceedings. A special committee, led by Member Finance, was also formed to oversee compliance.
An Investment Expo at Jinnah Convention Centre is running alongside the auction, offering investors information and support. CDA is providing attractive incentives, including a 5% discount for lump-sum payments within a month and an additional 5% concession for payments in US dollars.
Chairman Randhawa confirmed that the revenue generated will be used for sector development, infrastructure upgrades, and beautification projects across Islamabad.
