Islamabad, July 22, 2025 – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal housing and cooperative societies in Islamabad following strict directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
A high-level meeting was held at CDA headquarters under the chairmanship of Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who also serves as Chief Commissioner Islamabad. The session reviewed the latest progress on legal actions against unauthorized housing schemes and encroachments within the federal capital.
Officials briefed the CDA Chairman on recent measures, including the cancellation of layout plans and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) of societies found selling plots or starting development work without proper approvals.
In a decisive move, the CDA has sealed several offices of unauthorized housing schemes to prevent further illegal sales and safeguard urban planning integrity. An updated list of legal and illegal housing societies has been published on the CDA’s official website, enabling citizens to verify any society’s status before making investments.
The authority reiterated that no society can sell plots beyond the approved layout plan, warning that violators will face strict penalties. It also cautioned construction suppliers against providing building materials to unapproved schemes.
“Protecting the rights of citizens is our top priority. Illegal housing schemes will not be tolerated in Islamabad,” Randhawa said, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
This move aims to restore public trust, curb fraudulent practices, and ensure Islamabad’s planned growth remains intact.
