COAS Asim Munir Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to Regional Peace at Defence Chiefs Conference

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is determined to promote a peaceful, secure, and prosperous regional environment through strategic cooperation and defence diplomacy, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed on Saturday.

Pakistan hosted the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference in Islamabad, attended by senior military leaders from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the conference marked a significant step toward strengthening regional security partnerships, fostering strategic dialogue, and enhancing military cooperation.

Theme: “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace”
The summit focused on deepening multilateral defence cooperation, particularly in areas like counterterrorism, joint training, and intelligence sharing.

Participants discussed:

Regional security challenges in Central and South Asia

The shifting geopolitical landscape

Coordinated responses to transnational threats and hybrid warfare

Pakistan’s Role in Peace & Stability
Welcoming the defence delegations, Field Marshal Munir emphasized:

“In an era defined by transnational threats and complex hybrid challenges, deeper military cooperation and mutual trust are essential. Pakistan remains fully committed to working with partner nations for a secure and prosperous regional environment.”

The participating states praised Pakistan’s leadership, hospitality, and vision for initiating a platform focused on inclusive, forward-looking defence diplomacy.
