In a move aimed at modernizing financial access in Pakistan, Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan Limited (DIBPL) has partnered with JazzCash, the country’s leading fintech platform, to strengthen digital remittances and empower Pakistan’s growing freelance community.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at DIBPL’s head office, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration that will allow international remittances to be routed directly into JazzCash accounts through DIBPL’s global banking network. The goal is to make money transfers faster, safer, and more convenient for millions of Pakistanis.
Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz, CEO of DIBPL, emphasized the partnership’s potential to enhance financial inclusion. “By combining our international footprint with JazzCash’s massive digital presence, we’re making financial services more accessible and aligned with the needs of a diverse population,” he said.
On the other side, Murtaza Ali, President of JazzCash, noted that over 25% of Pakistan’s 2.3 million freelancers already use JazzCash for payments. “This partnership lets us go even further in providing fast, secure, and Shariah-compliant payment solutions tailored to freelancers and digital entrepreneurs,” he stated.
As Pakistan’s freelance sector continues to expand globally, initiatives like this provide essential support by removing payment barriers, offering real-time digital solutions, and enabling individuals to better manage and grow their earnings.
With DIBPL’s international banking strength and JazzCash’s last-mile digital reach, the collaboration is expected to drive financial inclusion, promote digital innovation, and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s digital economy — all while staying fully compliant with Shariah principles and regulatory standards.
