ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, called on Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, Chairman, Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP). During the meeting, Chairman CCP briefed the Minister on the Commission’s recent enforcement and advocacy efforts in the housing sector, especially its actions against deceptive marketing practices and initiatives to promote fair competition.
The Honorable Minister was pleased to learn about CCP’s robust enforcement actions and notable achievements, including significant progress in clearing the backlog of pending court cases, ensuring the recovery of penalties, and implementing key organizational reforms. He appreciated the Commission’s initiatives such as the establishment of a Centre of Excellence, inter-organizational collaborations, and enhanced capacity-building efforts aimed at strengthening the CCP’s workforce and improving its ability to address evolving market dynamics.
