Pakistan batter Haider Ali has been provisionally suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after Greater Manchester Police confirmed his arrest in connection with a rape allegation during the Pakistan A team’s recent tour of England.
Police said the incident was reported on 4 August 2025 and allegedly took place on 23 July in Manchester. The 24-year-old player has been bailed pending further inquiries, while the victim is receiving support from officers.
In a statement, the PCB said Haider Ali is receiving legal assistance, but will remain suspended until the investigation concludes. The board stressed its respect for UK legal processes and reserved the right to take further action under its Code of Conduct.
The PCB has replaced Haider with Mohammad Faiq for the Top End T20 Series in Darwin, Australia, from 14–24 August. Fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jnr has also been drafted in, replacing left-arm pacer Salman Mirza. The Shaheens, led by Muhammad Irfan Khan, will face Bangladesh A in their opening match on 14 August.
