Hope rises for direct flights between Pakistan and USA as talks progress

There’s encouraging news for travelers: the long-awaited resumption of direct flights between Pakistan and the United States is finally gaining ground.

According to Samaa News, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has finalized its plans for an official visit to Pakistan, where it will hold critical meetings with officials from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The FAA team is expected to inspect CAA’s headquarters and assess aviation safety standards.

The discussions will play a key role in determining whether Pakistan meets the criteria for restoring direct flight operations, which have remained suspended for several years due to regulatory and safety concerns.

If successful, this move could greatly ease travel for the Pakistani diaspora in the U.S. and boost business, tourism, and diplomatic connectivity between the two nations.

Aviation experts say that the renewed engagement reflects improved confidence in Pakistan’s aviation reforms and signals a major step forward in meeting global safety benchmarks.
