Israeli military hits Iran’s Fordow nuclear site a day after US strikes

According to Iranian officials, Israel has carried out a fresh strike on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility, just a day after the same site was targeted by the United States, Al Jazeera reported, citing Iran’s Tasnim news agency.

A spokesperson for the Qom Province Crisis Management headquarters confirmed the attack but assured locals that there was no threat to people living nearby.

Meanwhile, Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), voiced deep concern over military attacks on nuclear sites, warning that such actions risk spreading radiation far beyond national borders.

“Armed attacks on nuclear facilities should never take place,” Grossi told the IAEA Board of Governors, urging all sides to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation.

Grossi emphasized that diplomacy remains the only sustainable way to ensure Iran does not develop nuclear weapons. “If talks fail, the scale of violence and destruction could be unimaginable,” he cautioned.

Reiterating his willingness to help ease tensions, Grossi said, “I’m ready to travel to Iran immediately. We must continue working together despite our differences.”
