PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has imposed a temporary ban on all new construction activities at popular tourist sites across the province.
The announcement was made by the Chief Secretary of KP on Tuesday, who also confirmed that all previously issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for construction have been revoked.
The move aims to preserve the natural landscape of scenic areas and address growing concerns about environmental degradation, encroachments, and poor drainage systems in major tourist hubs.
Tourism authorities in destinations like Kaghan, Naran, and other key attractions have been directed to strictly follow approved master plans to ensure sustainable and eco-friendly development.
The government is expected to review and update regulations before lifting the ban.
