Veteran actress Ayesha Khan, who passed away at the age of 76, was buried in complete silence, away from cameras and public attention — and without any presence from the showbiz community she once illuminated.
Her passing, shrouded in solitude, has left many deeply saddened. In a heartbreaking twist, the news of her death did not surface for nearly a week. It was only when neighbours reported concern that the police intervened, and her body was moved to the Edhi morgue.
Journalist Farah Iqrar later shared a video on YouTube, giving an emotional farewell to the legendary actress. In the clip, she showed a photo of Ayesha Khan’s grave, revealing that she was buried close to her father’s resting place, with no fanfare — just quiet prayers.
According to Farah, Ayesha’s sons went to the police station but declined a post-mortem, insisting that she had died of natural causes and that they only wished to perform her final rites in peace.
Her remains were transferred from the Edhi morgue to the Sakhi Hassan graveyard, where she was laid to rest with only a handful of people present. Even the media had limited details, with only a few reporters aware of the funeral arrangements.
Farah shared that no one from the entertainment industry could attend her funeral, simply because no one was informed in time. She described Ayesha Khan as a kind and friendly person who, sadly, spent her final days in isolation and deep despair after suffering a leg fracture.
Her quiet burial marks a sombre farewell to a star who once brought life to Pakistan’s screens but departed this world almost unnoticed.
