In a major step toward enhancing the pilgrim experience, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced a new update that allows users to access the Nusuk app without needing mobile internet or Wi-Fi.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the initiative was launched in collaboration with major telecom providers STC, Mobily, and Zain. The update aims to simplify the pilgrimage journey by making essential digital services completely free to access through local SIM cards.
Ministry official Ghassan Al-Nuwaimi confirmed that pilgrims can now use all core Nusuk features—such as permit bookings, navigation, and Haramain train reservations—without having to buy a data plan.

This upgrade also supports tools like AI-powered assistance, real-time maps, and options to submit reports or inquiries, providing a smoother, smarter journey for visitors to the holy cities.
Head of the Nusuk platform Ahmed Al-Maiman said this feature will not only cut down on confusion but also speed up permit verification, improve crowd control, and prevent pilgrims from getting lost—a major leap forward for digital pilgrimage management.
