ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is set to make a powerful impression at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025 in the United Kingdom, with its cutting-edge JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets and a specially painted C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
The PAF contingent arrived at RAF Fairford on Thursday, marking Pakistan’s latest participation in one of the world’s largest and most prestigious military airshows, according to an ISPR press release.
The JF-17 Block-III, a 4.5-generation multi-role fighter equipped with advanced AESA radar and beyond-visual-range (BVR) weapons, demonstrated its long-range capability by completing an air-to-air refuelling operation mid-route to the UK with support from a PAF IL-78 aerial tanker.
“The JF-17 Block-III can conduct a wide spectrum of combat missions, enhancing national security by meeting contemporary airpower challenges,” the statement noted.
Adding to the visual appeal of the event, the PAF’s C-130 Hercules has been decorated with a special livery themed ‘Eyes in the Skies’, symbolizing vigilance, situational awareness, and the technological edge of modern air forces.
The striking design is expected to capture attention among aviation enthusiasts and highlight the creativity and operational heritage of the PAF.
PAF officials said the participation at RIAT underscores Pakistan’s growing aerospace capabilities, as well as its commitment to engaging with the global aviation community.
