Starting July 1, 2025, Pak Suzuki Motor Company has increased the prices of all its car models—some by as much as Rs. 186,000. This move follows the government’s latest tax revisions, including a bump in the sales tax from 12.5% to 18%, along with the introduction of a New Energy Vehicle (NEV) levy on petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.
The impact is being felt across Suzuki’s lineup, including popular models like Alto, Cultus, Swift, Every, and Ravi. According to dealerships, the company shared updated pricing to reflect the rising production costs driven by the new tax structure.
The NEV levy, announced under the Finance Act 2025, applies primarily to conventional fuel vehicles. However, electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, export-only models, and diplomatic cars are exempt from this additional charge.
Highlights of the new prices:
Alto VXL AGS: Now Rs. 3,326,446 (↑ Rs. 186,446)
Cultus AGS: Now Rs. 4,591,460 (↑ Rs. 45,460)
Swift GLX CVT: Now Rs. 4,766,190 (↑ Rs. 47,190)
Every VX: Now Rs. 2,912,230 (↑ Rs. 163,230)
Ravi VXR: Now Rs. 2,965,200 (↑ Rs. 166,200)
Even the relatively lower-end Ravi Pickup and Without Deck saw price bumps of nearly Rs. 20,000.
This latest hike is yet another blow to affordability in the auto sector. Dealers say if such price trends continue, many middle-class consumers may be priced out of the market, especially those eyeing entry-level cars. Industry insiders expect a drop in demand unless government policy begins to offer relief or incentives, particularly for small vehicle buyers.
