ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s passport has once again been ranked among the weakest in the world, standing at 96th place in the latest Henley Passport Index 2025.
The index, released by UK-based Henley & Partners, reveals that Pakistani passport holders can travel visa-free to just 32 destinations, placing the country alongside Yemen and Somalia as the fourth least powerful passport globally.
The annual ranking evaluates 199 passports against 227 travel destinations, highlighting the global mobility gap between top-ranked and bottom-ranked nations.
By comparison, China ranked 60th, India 77th, and Iran 91st, all ahead of Pakistan in the index.
Meanwhile, Singapore retained its title as the world’s most powerful passport, granting its citizens visa-free access to 193 destinations. Japan and South Korea followed closely, offering 190 visa-free destinations, while several European Union countries—including Germany, France, and Italy—secured the third spot with access to 189 destinations.
At the very bottom of the list remains Afghanistan, whose passport allows visa-free entry to only 25 destinations, marking a staggering 168-destination gap from Singapore.
The ranking underscores Pakistan’s limited global mobility, which continues to pose challenges for travelers and professionals seeking easier international access.
