The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has intensified efforts to restore communication networks disrupted by recent flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other affected parts of the country.
Heavy rains and flooding have damaged multiple cellular and fixed-line sites, cutting off vital communication channels. PTA teams are working closely with telecom operators, district administrations, and provincial and federal authorities to ensure services are brought back online as quickly as possible.
In Buner, a key meeting was held with Minister Ameer Muqaam, PTI Chairman Gohar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kashif Qayum, and senior officials from PTCL and cellular operators. The session focused on accelerating recovery measures and ensuring smooth coordination among stakeholders.
The PTA emphasized that restoring connectivity is a top priority, as uninterrupted communication is critical for ongoing rescue missions and relief work. Telecom operators, including PTCL and cellular companies, are deploying resources on the ground to repair damaged sites and restore coverage in affected areas.
The authority assured that every possible effort is being made to maintain stable communication services during this crisis, helping both authorities and citizens stay connected at a time when it matters most.
