Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a massive Rs 100 billion package of interest-free loans for wheat growers, aimed at reducing their financial stress and increasing production.
Chairing a high-level meeting, she directed officials to prepare a clear strategy to enhance wheat output and ensure affordable farming. She stressed the importance of reducing agricultural input costs before the sowing season, ordering a steady supply of fertilizers and targeted subsidies for small wheat farmers.
The approved plan will see loans distributed ahead of wheat cultivation to help farmers invest in quality seeds, fertilizers, and equipment. Maryam Nawaz assured growers of full provincial support, saying Punjab’s agricultural community will continue to receive both financial relief and essential resources.
