RDA Seals Golden City Office and 10 Other Properties in Crackdown on Illegal Housing Schemes

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) continued its crackdown on illegal housing schemes and properties on Thursday, sealing 11 sites, including the head office of the unapproved Golden City housing scheme.

According to an RDA spokesperson, the enforcement team, under the directions of DG Kinza Murtaza, sealed the Golden City office in Mouza Mohri Khatrain, five properties near Nullah Dhamyal Kalyal, and five shops on Adyala Road, Mouza Jarahi.

The Golden City sponsor was found advertising plots on social media without obtaining the mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) from RDA, violating the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2021.

Despite prior notices, the developer failed to comply with RDA’s directives, prompting strict enforcement action.

DG Kinza Murtaza reaffirmed that the zero-tolerance policy on illegal housing schemes is being implemented on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She urged citizens to verify the legal status of any project with RDA before making investments.

For details and verification of approved housing schemes, the public can visit RDA’s official website.
