Sabrina Carpenter promises clean versions for young fans amid album cover criticism

Sabrina Carpenter didn’t shy away from addressing the buzz around her upcoming album Man’s Best Friend while accepting multiple trophies at this year’s Kids Choice Awards.

The pop sensation, who’s made a name for herself with grown-up lyrics and bold visuals, walked away with three big wins: Favourite Song (Taste), Favourite Female Breakout Artist, and Favourite Album (Short N’ Sweet).

During her heartfelt speech, Sabrina shared how much it meant to win at a show she’s watched since childhood.

“I’ve always dreamed of holding one of these since I was little. This means the world to me—thank you for voting and for loving these songs,” she told the cheering audience.

Addressing parents’ concerns about her maturing sound and the backlash her new album cover received, Sabrina made a sweet promise: “I’ll keep making clean versions of my songs just for you guys.”

Sabrina, who got her start under Disney’s Hollywood Records, still has a loyal younger fanbase—many of whom have grown up alongside her music. Despite her shift to a more adult image, she’s kept the habit of dropping radio-friendly edits, including her hit Bed Chem.

Fans won’t have to wait long for more—Man’s Best Friend is set to drop on August 29, 2025.
