Sweden reopens visa services in Islamabad after diplomatic talks

Good news for Pakistani travelers—Sweden has officially resumed its visa services in Islamabad, making it easier once again for people to apply for short visits to the Scandinavian country.

The announcement came shortly after a round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) held between the foreign ministries of Pakistan and Sweden in Stockholm on July 2. The move is being welcomed as a positive step in strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Starting from July 7, Pakistani citizens can now apply for a Schengen visa from within Pakistan for trips to Sweden of up to 90 days.

The talks in Stockholm were led by senior diplomats from both countries. Pakistan’s delegation was headed by the Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe, while Sweden was represented by its Director General for Global Affairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the resumption of visa services is not just a procedural update, but a reflection of growing mutual cooperation and goodwill.
