ISLAMABAD – TikTok has revealed in its Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report that it removed 24,954,128 videos in Pakistan between January and March for violating community standards.
The platform maintained a 99.4% proactive removal rate in the country, with 95.8% of flagged videos taken down within 24 hours. TikTok said the move reflects its ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and responsible digital environment for Pakistani users.
Globally, the platform removed 211 million videos during the same quarter, accounting for 0.9% of all uploads. Of these, 184 million were identified and deleted using automated detection tools, while over 7.5 million videos were reinstated after review.
The report highlighted that 30.1% of removed videos contained mature or sensitive content, while 11.5% breached safety and civility standards. Another 15.6% violated privacy and security policies, and a significant 45.5% were flagged as misinformation. Additionally, 13.8% involved edited or AI-generated media that misled users.
TikTok said its high proactive moderation rate demonstrates the platform’s ability to identify harmful content before it spreads. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening AI moderation tools and increasing transparency reports to maintain user trust.
