ABU DHABI — In a significant diplomatic development, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has assured Pakistan that it will work to address visa-related issues, especially those affecting Pakistani workers seeking employment in the Gulf state.
The assurance was given during a high-level meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Naqvi, who is on an official visit to the UAE, was welcomed with a guard of honour at the Ministry of Interior. He held in-depth discussions with top Emirati officials, focusing on immigration, security, and mutual cooperation.
“We want Pakistani citizens to come to the UAE with ease,” Naqvi said during the meeting.
“Relaxation in visa policies will bring great relief.”
In response, Sheikh Saif assured full support in resolving the visa challenges and enhancing overall cooperation in immigration and employment-related matters.

Tech & Policing Exchange: Naqvi visited the Abu Dhabi Police Operations Center, where he was briefed on cutting-edge surveillance systems. He expressed Pakistan’s interest in adopting similar tech-driven solutions for public safety.
Strengthening Brotherhood
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the historic brotherly ties between the UAE and Pakistan, with an emphasis on public welfare, law enforcement, and regional security.
“UAE-Pakistan relations are a national asset,” Naqvi said.
“We look forward to expanding cooperation across all areas.”
