WWE Legend Hulk Hogan Passes Away at 71 After Cardiac Arrest in Florida

Wrestling fans around the world are in shock as WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71.

According to TMZ, Hogan—born Terry Bollea—suffered cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida home. Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital after a 911 call, but despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead. His wife, Sky Hogan, and family have yet to release an official statement.

The news comes just days after his longtime friend and manager Jimmy Hart reassured fans on social media that Hogan was “doing phenomenal,” even sharing that they recently enjoyed a karaoke night with Hogan’s son Nick.

Hogan was one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling history, becoming a global phenomenon in the 1980s and 1990s. Known for his trademark handlebar moustache, iconic red-and-yellow gear, and catchphrases like “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?!”—he headlined multiple WrestleManias, won back-to-back Royal Rumbles in 1990 and 1991, and famously body-slammed André the Giant in 1988 in front of 33 million viewers.

Beyond the squared circle, Hogan also made his mark in Hollywood, appearing as ‘Thunderlips’ in Rocky III alongside Sylvester Stallone. His charisma helped push wrestling into mainstream pop culture, making him one of the most recognizable sports entertainers of all time.

Hogan’s passing is particularly shocking as he was reportedly recovering well from recent neck surgeries earlier this year.

He is survived by his wife, Sky, and two children. Fans and fellow wrestlers are already paying tribute online, celebrating his unmatched legacy.
