27 bureaucrats promoted to grade 22

ISLAMABAD: The High-Powered Selection Board has approved the promotion of 27 senior bureaucrats to Grade 22, the highest attainable rank for civil servants in Pakistan, to fill key administrative and law enforcement positions.

Among those promoted, 19 officers belong to the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), while eight are from the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).

Notable PAS officers elevated to Grade 22 include Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Nabeel Awan, and Ahmad Raza Sarwar. Others promoted in PAS are Rashid Mehmood, Momin Agha, Nadeem Mehmood, Shakeel Ahmad Mangnejo, Dawood Muhammad Bareach, Saadia Sarwat Javed, Asad Rehman Gillani, and Ali Sarfraz. Additional Secretary Education Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry (Secretary, Ministry of National Food Security and Research), and Ambreen Afzal have also been elevated.

In the Police Service Group, the officers promoted to Grade 22 include BA Nasir, Ghulam Nabi Memon, Farooq Mazhar, Imran Yaqub, Khaleq Shaikh, Shehzad Sultan, Zubair Hashmi, and Muhammad Tahir Rai.

This wave of promotions reflects the government’s commitment to recognizing merit and strengthening governance by appointing experienced officials to key positions.
