Pakistan Tobacco Company appoints new Chairman, CEO, and CFO

New leadership set for three-year term amid regulatory challenges

KARACHI: Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PSX: PAKT) has announced significant leadership changes, appointing a new chairman, chief executive officer (CEO), and chief financial officer (CFO) for a three-year term, the company said in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Thursday.

Nasir Mahmood Khan Khosa has been appointed as chairman, Syed Ali Akbar as CEO, and Ahad Khan as CFO. The changes come as the company navigates a complex and evolving regulatory environment alongside shifting market dynamics.

A subsidiary of British American Tobacco (Investments) Limited, UK, Pakistan Tobacco Company is one of the leading players in the country’s tobacco industry. Its ultimate parent is British American Tobacco p.l.c., UK. Established in 1947 as a public limited company, PAKT is primarily involved in the manufacturing and sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products.

The leadership reshuffle signals a new chapter for the company, which has historically maintained a strong financial and market position but continues to face scrutiny from tax authorities and public health advocates.
