ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military leadership has resolved to take “decisive and holistic actions” against India-backed terror proxies, declaring national security and the protection of Pakistani citizens as their top-most priority, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued Thursday.
The announcement came during the 271st Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
The forum took place against the backdrop of heightened tensions following the May 2025 war between Pakistan and India, triggered by New Delhi’s baseless accusations linking Islamabad to a deadly attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir’s (IIOJK) Pahalgam—an allegation Pakistan has categorically denied.
🕊️ Post-war threats and India’s shift to proxy warfare
Although the war ended within 90 hours, with what Islamabad described as a decisive response, Pakistan has since accused India of sponsoring multiple terrorist attacks inside Pakistan through its proxies.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of recent attacks, the commanders observed Fateha and vowed that their sacrifices would not go in vain. The CCC noted that India, after failing in direct confrontation, is now intensifying subversive activities via proxies of Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
🛡️ “Blood of our Shuhada will not go to waste”
The forum praised recent counter-terrorism successes and reiterated that the blood of martyrs would be avenged. COAS Munir highlighted India’s failed attempts to invoke third parties and engage in bloc politics to disguise its defeat and advance its hegemonic Hindutva-driven agenda.
📢 Diplomatic counter-offensive
The meeting also covered the army chief’s recent regional and international visits, including trips to Iran, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and a historic visit to the United States. These engagements were described as opportunities to project Pakistan’s “objective perspective” on key bilateral and global developments.
🌍 Security landscape and preparedness
The commanders reviewed the evolving internal and external security landscape, especially the increasing reliance on force as a global policy tool, and stressed the importance of national unity, self-reliance, and adaptation to changing warfare dynamics.
The COAS lauded the synergy between the Army, Navy, and Air Force, expressing full confidence in the Pakistan Armed Forces’ operational readiness against all forms of threats.
