Police share initial post-mortem findings in Humaira Asghar’s death case

The initial post-mortem report of actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali has been completed, but authorities say it’s too early to determine the exact cause of death due to the “advanced state of decomposition” of her body.

According to Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, while the post-mortem has been carried out, more clarity will come once DNA and chemical analysis reports are finalized. “It would be premature to conclude anything at this stage,” she noted.

Humaira’s body was discovered by police in her flat in Karachi’s Defence Phase 6 Ittehad Commercial area on Tuesday. Officials had arrived at the apartment around 3:15pm to enforce a court-ordered eviction. When no one responded, they broke in and found her lifeless body lying inside.

Police confirmed the actor had been living alone in that apartment for the past seven years. A neighbour told Geo News that the flat owner had been complaining about delayed rent payments and that Humaira rarely interacted with other residents.

The news of her passing has left the entertainment industry stunned. Humaira, who had appeared on the reality show Tamasha Ghar and starred in the film Jalaibee, was remembered fondly by fans and fellow artists alike. Many took to social media, expressing sorrow and urging people to check on loved ones, especially those who live alone.

Her tragic death comes less than three weeks after another senior actress, Ayesha Khan, was found dead in similar circumstances in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area — raising concerns about mental health and isolation in showbiz.
