Trump scolds Israel and Iran for violating fragile ceasefire deal

US President Donald Trump has openly accused both Israel and Iran of breaking the ceasefire agreement he personally brokered just hours earlier. Speaking to reporters before leaving for The Hague for a NATO summit, Trump didn’t hold back, saying he was especially furious with Israel’s actions.

According to Reuters, Trump criticized Israel for launching airstrikes immediately after agreeing to the truce. “Right after they agreed, they started bombing like never before. I’ve never seen anything like it — the biggest assault yet,” he said.

He warned Israel not to escalate further, telling them to call back their pilots and refrain from hitting Iran again. “If you bomb Iran now, that’s a serious violation of the ceasefire,” he stressed.

Trump also claimed that Iran’s nuclear capability has been neutralized, but made it clear he wasn’t happy with Tehran either. “I’m not thrilled with Iran, but I’m extremely upset with Israel right now,” he told reporters.

His remarks came shortly after the US confirmed that Iran had fired missiles at the Al Udeid US airbase in Qatar. In response, Trump announced that Iran and Israel had agreed to halt attacks within six hours, once their final missions were completed.

Under the plan, Iran would cease hostilities first, followed by Israel 12 hours later. The full end of the so-called “12-Day War” would then be officially recognized within a day.

Trump even called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally, asking him to hold back. According to Al Jazeera and Axios, Netanyahu told Trump he couldn’t completely cancel the operation because Iran had already breached the ceasefire — but promised the strike would be “very limited” and focused on a single target.

Observers now watch anxiously to see if the ceasefire can be salvaged or if the region will slip back into open conflict.
