The District Education Authority Lahore has issued strict new guidelines for private schools, capping annual fee increases at 5% and banning the collection of more than one month’s fee at a time.
According to the official notice, schools must follow the approved fee structure and are barred from imposing any additional or hidden charges. In a major relief for parents, the authority also stated that students cannot be expelled for late fee payments.
🔒 Key directives include:
-
No fee hike beyond 5% annually
-
Only one month’s fee can be collected at a time
-
Advance payments and lump sum collections are not allowed
-
Summer camp charges are strictly prohibited
-
Schools cannot force parents to buy uniforms or books from specific vendors
The education authority warned that strict legal action will be taken against schools that violate these regulations, under the applicable education laws.
The move is being widely welcomed by parents who have long complained about unregulated fee structures and commercial exploitation in the private education sector.
