MULTAN: Pakistan Army on Saturday officially inducted the cutting-edge Z-10ME attack helicopters into its aviation fleet during a ceremony attended by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at Multan Garrison.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Z-10ME is an all-weather attack helicopter equipped with modern radar systems and electronic warfare capabilities, designed for precision strikes against aerial and ground targets. Its induction marks a major enhancement in the Army’s tactical and operational capabilities.
The COAS reviewed the operational preparedness of the Multan Corps and later presided over the induction ceremony. He was received by the corps commander and briefed on ongoing training activities and overall combat readiness at the Corps Headquarters.
Following the induction event, Field Marshal Munir witnessed a live firepower demonstration by the newly inducted Z-10ME helicopters at Muzaffargarh Field Firing Ranges. The live exercise showcased the helicopters’ strike capabilities and the Army’s modern combined arms tactics.
The Army Chief expressed his satisfaction over the formation’s state of readiness and lauded the troops for maintaining high morale and professionalism. He reaffirmed the Army’s firm resolve to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of evolving threats.
In addition to military engagements, the COAS held a session with members of academia and civil society. He stressed the significance of national unity, civil-military synergy, and a whole-of-nation approach in addressing hybrid threats and fostering social cohesion.
He also interacted directly with troops, commending their combat readiness and professional excellence. “The effective battlefield demonstration reflects the Army’s commitment to staying ahead in the changing nature of warfare,” he stated.
The induction of the Z-10ME — a high-tech asset in Pakistan’s defense arsenal — is expected to significantly boost the Army’s deterrence and quick-response capabilities in diverse combat scenarios.
