Tayiba Ashraf wins triple gold for Pakistan at 2025 Taekwondo Championship in Malaysia

Pakistani athlete Tayiba Ashraf has brought immense pride to the nation by winning three gold medals at the 2025 International Taekwondo Championship in Malaysia — a triumph she has dedicated to Pakistan on its Independence Day.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Tayiba expressed her excitement: “I’m overwhelmed with joy and pride! Winning 3 gold medals in Malaysia is my gift to Pakistan on our Independence Day.”

Representing Pakistan among competitors from over 35 countries, Tayiba described the moment as a dream come true. “Allah gave me the incredible opportunity to represent my country once again, and I’m honoured to have raised our flag high in front of the world,” she said.

Her victories came in three categories — virtual fight, pair poomsae, and the -49kg fight — demonstrating her versatility and skill in the sport. “These wins make me proud to showcase Pakistan’s talent at the global level,” she added.

Tayiba dedicated her achievement to her homeland and the supporters who stood by her, while thanking her parents, coaches, and friends for their unwavering belief. “Your prayers and trust have been my strength. My next goal is to carry our flag to the Olympics and make the nation proud, In Sha Allah.”
