Deaf Reach School children inspire at NBP’s 78th Independence Day celebrations

KARACHI – The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) celebrated the nation’s 78th Independence Day with a patriotic and inclusive ceremony at its headquarters, highlighted by a touching performance from the children of Deaf Reach School.

The festivities included the national flag hoisting, the singing of the national anthem, and a cake-cutting ceremony attended by NBP leaders, employees, and their families. The most memorable moment came when Deaf Reach School children joined in, performing the anthem in sign language — a poignant display of national pride that transcended words.

NBP President Rehmat Ali Hasnie reflected on the occasion, honouring Pakistan’s resilience and progress. “This day reminds us of the sacrifices made for independence and our duty to uphold those values,” he said. He reiterated NBP’s commitment to advancing Pakistan’s economic strength through financial inclusion, entrepreneurship support, and sustainable growth initiatives.

“As we celebrate 78 years of independence, we stand united in building a stronger Pakistan for the generations to come,” he added.

The event closed on a note of gratitude and resolve, reminding all present that patriotism is about unity, shared responsibility, and working collectively for the country’s future.
