CDA denies building cricket stadium in F-9 Park, says only ground upgradation underway

Islamabad — The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has dismissed rumors that a new cricket stadium is being built in Islamabad’s F-9 Park, clarifying that the ongoing project is limited to upgrading the existing cricket ground.

According to CDA officials, the project aims to improve facilities to international standards while ensuring that the park’s recreational and green character remains preserved.

The authority stressed that no green areas will be cut down or sacrificed. Instead, landscaping and turf enhancements are part of the plan to strengthen greenery and preserve the natural environment of the park.

CDA also assured the public that children’s play zones and family recreational spaces remain untouched. The park will stay fully open and accessible to citizens during and after the upgradation work.

Rejecting concerns over security and accessibility, CDA reiterated that the development will only provide Islamabad residents with a modern cricket facility, without compromising the park’s role as a public recreational space.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development, stating that the project balances infrastructure improvement with the protection of Islamabad’s green spaces.
