Lahore — The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved development projects worth Rs. 15.76 billion in its 20th meeting of the current fiscal year, covering key initiatives in roads, wildlife conservation, and tourism promotion.
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf, Chairman Planning & Development Board Punjab, cleared six schemes, including:
Strengthening and Capacity Building of the Wildlife Department for conservation efforts — Rs. 3,631.564 million
Revamping and Experience Development of Bahawalpur Zoo — Rs. 3,479.820 million
Construction of Additional Ring Road from Bahawalpur Railway Station to Bino Hospital — Rs. 1,628.492 million
Rehabilitation of Sahiwal–Pakpattan Road — Rs. 4,518.906 million
Rehabilitation of Sammundri–Sahiwal Road — Rs. 2,456.425 million
Feasibility study for chairlift and cable car from Lakot to Pindi Point, Murree — Rs. 50 million
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Naeem Rauf said the schemes would enhance connectivity, mobility, and infrastructure across Punjab, while also promoting wildlife conservation and eco-tourism. He emphasized that the initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to sustainable development and preservation of natural heritage.
The meeting was also attended by P&D Board Secretary Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, board members, and senior officials.
