Iran’s supreme leader claims victory over Israel and the U.S. following recent conflict

In a statement released on his official Telegram account, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei congratulated the Iranian people on what he described as a significant blow to Israel during the recent escalation. The message, which came just days after a ceasefire took effect, claimed that Iran had nearly brought Israel “to its knees” with its military response.

“I congratulate the great Iranian nation on the defeat of the false Zionist regime,” Khamenei stated. The full speech is expected to be released later, according to Iranian media sources.

Khamenei further asserted that despite Israel’s military strength and declarations, the Islamic Republic’s counterattack nearly overwhelmed it. He also accused the United States of stepping into the conflict in an attempt to protect Israel from collapse—yet, in his view, failing to achieve any strategic outcome.

“My second congratulations go to the triumph of our beloved Iran over the American regime,” he added, emphasizing that the U.S. intervention was motivated by fears of Israel’s complete defeat. “But despite their direct involvement, the Americans achieved nothing.”

He concluded by calling the outcome a “harsh slap” to the face of both Israel and the United States, presenting the confrontation as a dual victory for Iran on the regional and global stage.
